THEATER - PERFORMANCES

Stoneground

Based on Bomarzo, a novel by Mujica-Lainez, Stoneground investigated the problem of evil personified by Giovanni Orsini, Duke of Bomarzo, a celebrated Renaissance torturer-prince.
In Theatre of Man's original production, with music composed by Martin Bresnick, historical scenes alternated with mythic scenes inspired by the Etruscan necropolises of the Campagna region of Italy.

"Well worth seeing, Stoneground's dream-hazed, associative progression of scenes is like the flow of action in Fellini's Satyricon or Strindberg's A Dream Play."

H. Dyckoff & M. Waterman, The Laney Tower, Feb. 21, 1974
